寧靜的心跡(112) 恐懼讓我們更勇敢


我們的內心懷有恐懼,這是無可避免的。一旦踏上生命的旅途,我們必然遇到各種危險,因此我們會經常感到恐懼。那些勇敢的人不是不會感到恐懼,而是他們能夠克服恐懼。就如對待其他負面心理那樣,我們克服恐懼的最佳方法,就是接受它。

“無所畏懼”這個想法是無效的,即使最勇敢的人也需要有恐懼感。不怕迎面而來的車輛而站在道路中間,是愚蠢和無知的行為。此外,在無法思考的情況下,恐懼能夠保護我們的生命。面對突如其來的危險或威脅,恐懼會觸發身體的應激反應,促使我們迅速採取行動。

大多數恐懼都源於心理陰影,生活中會引起恐懼的事物也有很多,因此我們要擺脫恐懼並不容易。恐懼的最大問題在於我們對它的抗拒,這會使它變得越來越強烈,有時甚至會導致崩潰。

因此,我們需要足夠的勇氣。看到一條草繩我們就以為是蛇,立即驚慌逃跑,這絕不是面對恐懼的好辦法。實際上,恐懼還有更多好處,它能提醒我們有意識地處事。如果理解恐懼是一種警示,我們就能讓它存在並與它對話,提取其中所蘊含的信息。

恐懼也是環境對我們的挑戰。如果接受這個挑戰,我們就能從中獲得更多的覺知,進而變得更有勇氣。勇敢地面對恐懼,我們還能超越自己的心理限制,擺脫習慣,找到更適合自己發展的領域。

恐懼不一定引起消極的情緒,當看到它的積極面,我們會更傾向接受它。接受就是放下我們的主觀假設,找到對恐懼的客觀評價,然後以新的方式與之互動。當我們接受恐懼,就意味著已經克服了它。駕馭恐懼的能力表明,我們的意識已超越了它的限制。

The path to Tranquility (112) Fear makes us braver


Our hearts harbor fear, and it is inevitable. Once we embark on the journey of life, we are bound to encounter various dangers, so we will often feel fear. It's not that those who are brave don't feel fear, it's that they are able to overcome it. Just like with any other negative mentality, the best way we can overcome our fear is to accept it.

The idea of "being fearless" is ineffective, as even the bravest individuals need the feeling of fear. It is foolish and ignorant to stand in the middle of the road without fear of oncoming traffic. Furthermore, fear can protect our lives in situations where we cannot think. Faced with sudden danger or threats, fear triggers our body's stress response, prompting us to take swift action.

Most fears stem from our psychological shadows, and there are many things in life that cause fear, so it is not easy for us to get rid of fear. The biggest problem with fear lies in our resistance towards it, which can make it stronger and sometimes even leads to breakdowns.

Therefore, we need enough courage. Seeing a straw rope and thinking it was a snake and running away in panic is never a good way to face fear. In fact, fear has more benefits, it can remind us to do things consciously. If we understand that fear is a warning, we can let it exist, engage in a dialogue with it, and extract the information it contains.

Fear is also a challenge to us by the environment. If we accept this challenge, we can gain more awareness from it and consequently become more courageous. Facing fear bravely allows us to transcend our psychological limitations, break free from habits, and find fields that is more suitable for our development.

Fear does not necessarily evoke negative emotions. When we see its positive aspects, we become more inclined to accept it. Acceptance means letting go of our subjective assumptions, finding an objective evaluation of fear, and then interacting with it in a new way. When we accept fear, it signifies that we have already overcome it. The ability to harness fear indicates that our consciousness has surpassed its limitations.
